For Sale: Praetorian XXIV Ltd Edition Box Set

'If it's a miracle, Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry No 45 Lasgun miracle.'
'And a bayonet, sir, with some guts behind it.'
The clean up push continues apace, I've advanced into the dusty provinces under my painting table where amongst the piles of flash and broken paintbrushes, I've discovered ancient caskets that have lain undisturbed for many years and within have been some nice long forgotten finds.

Now it's rare for me to get rid of any 40k related items but it'll soon be Candlemass and if the Emperor judges me worthy and more importantly my Good Lady Wife is feeling festively generous; I should be receiving some more current additions to my loyalist forces and modeling supplies.

So whilst the will has been strong I fired up the Ebay account and have been selling off a few surplus minis and those that I have no real need for.

I'm not going to make a habit of touting for business here, but this particular sale I felt was worthy of a Blog entry; I've got a boxed set of Praetorian XXIV Imperial Guard which was a limited edition release following the 1997 Games Day 'Battle for Big Toof River'.

As many of you will know the Praetorian's in their distinctive Pith helmets have developed a bit of a cult following over the years and are quite sort after. I was quite taken aback when I realised the box was complete and that none of the blisters inside were opened.

I spent a long, long time having a 'Gollum like' heated debate over whether or not to sell them, they were after all gifted to me by a very good friend; I'm also a huge fan of the film Zulu and kept hearing Men of Halech every time I leant towards a sale. But in the end it was their fabled red tunics that was their undoing, I just can't face painting another red army. Tol I hope you can forgive me buddy.

So rather than keep them gathering dust until the Time of Ending, I'm putting them up for sale and hopefully they will find gainful employment fighting the enemies of the Emperor with a new owner.

This is what the set contains, the only damage is to the outer box which has a torn bottom left corner and scuffing to various edges.

x1 Captain / x1 Commissar / x1 Standard Bearer / x1 Bugler
x2 Sergeants
x3 Special Weapon Guardsmen (Melta Gun,Flamer,Grenade Launcher)
x5 Heavy Weapon Teams (x2 Las Cannons,x1 Heavy Bolter,x1 Auto Cannon and a Mortar Team)
x13 Guardsmen
x4 Special Edition Casualty Models
Also in the box are the transfer (decal) set for the unit, the paper standard and the booklet with a history of the regiment and guide on organisation and stats.
Here's the link to the sale if you're the least bit tempted, if so happy bidding and good luck.
