Not sure if this was in reference to Veteran's Day, but Memorial Day is in remembrance of the fallen for their country. Veteran's Day is to celebrate all who've served.

@Anon, sorry for any confusion. I hail from the other side of the Pond where we Brits observe the 11th Nov as Remembrance Day along with the other Countries of the Commonwealth.
